EPA Fines 16 Firms for Violations of the Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule

VIENNA, VA (November 15, 2012) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) just announced enforcement actions against 16 companies for violations of the lead-based paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP). The enforcement actions include 13 administrative settlements and three filed administrative complaints. The EPA is seeking civil penalties up to the statutory maximum of $37,500 per violation for the administrative complaints.
